Ukraine's Ambassador to Ankara, Nariman Dzhelyal, was summoned to Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the attack on a Turkish commercial vessel in the Black Sea and on another vessel sent the following day to tow it.

"According to sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the vessel Lider Bordo Mavi, operated by a Turkish company, was attacked in the Black Sea off the coast of Tuapse on August 26, 2026, and the vessel L Kocatepe, sent the following day to tow it, also became a target of an attack, Ukraine's Ambassador to Ankara was summoned to the ministry," the report states.

During the meeting, Turkey's position regarding the attacks was conveyed to the diplomat. Appropriate warnings were also issued regarding the need to ensure the safety of people, property, navigation, and the environment in the Black Sea.
