In the mosques of Azerbaijan, approximately 1,500 religious figures are working.

In Azerbaijan, approximately 1,500 religious figures work at more than 1,000 Islamic places of worship.

This was reported by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.

Following the amendments to the law "On Freedom of Religion" made on February 25, 2022, the committee appointed 343 religious figures.

Among them are 71 women conducting religious ceremonies for women.
