Maduro ordered the mobilization of 25 thousand military personnel

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ordered 25,000 military personnel to strengthen the country's borders near Colombia, as well as on the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts. In a statement published on the president's Telegram channel, it is specified that the purpose of the mobilization is "to protect national sovereignty and the country's security."
"I ordered 25,000 men and women from our glorious National Bolivarian Armed Forces to strengthen the operations of rapid response units in the peace zone with Colombia, as well as on the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts," the message states.
Since the beginning of September, there has been an escalation of conflict between the US and Venezuela. On September 3, the US President announced a strike against representatives of the Venezuelan group Tren de Aragua, involved in drug trafficking. The President of Venezuela stated that the United States attacked the country under a fabricated pretext in order to ultimately "seize natural resources."
