Macron admitted to excessive self-confidence and making mistakes
French President Emmanuel Macron admitted on February 19 that excessive self-confidence had repeatedly led him to serious miscalculations in decision-making, Politico reports.
"Every time I was too self-confident, I made mistakes, big mistakes," he said.
However, the French leader did not reveal examples of such mistakes.
The publication notes that the politician has repeatedly been accused of arrogance, including after his unsuccessful decision to hold early parliamentary elections in 2024, as a result of which his party lost the majority of seats.
In turn, Macron's former advisor Alain Minc called the French leader a narcissist whose recklessness "endangered French institutions" and strengthened the position of the far-right ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
