Iran's Foreign Ministry called the ban on uranium enrichment a "red line"

Iran will not ask for permission to continue uranium enrichment.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to foreign media, this is how Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi commented on the US demand for Iran to abandon its peaceful nuclear program as part of a future deal.
"There is a lot of ambiguity in this proposal (from the US - ed.). We will give a proper response in the next few days. Uranium enrichment on our territory is a 'red line'. This is a reality that I think all countries have realized," Araqchi told journalists.
US President Donald Trump previously stated that a potential nuclear program deal excludes any uranium enrichment in Iran. Reuters, citing an Iranian diplomat, reported that Iran intends to reject this deal as it deprives Tehran of the right to a peaceful nuclear program. Against this background, the sixth round of negotiations between the US and Iran on this issue may fail, CNN suggests.
