In Iran, a volcano that had been dormant for more than 700 thousand years has awakened

Taftan Volcano in the southeast of Iran is showing signs of activity after more than 700,000 years of dormancy. According to scientists, from July 2023 to May 2024, over 10 months, the surface of the volcano has risen by approximately 9 centimeters.
This is reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Telegram channel "Free Iran".
Specialists believe that this phenomenon indicates increased gas pressure beneath the volcano's surface and that it has ceased to be completely "dormant".
The height of Taftan Volcano is about 3,940 meters, and it is located in a mountainous area on the border between Iran and Pakistan.
Scientists note that the awakening of the volcano requires serious seismic observation and constant monitoring, as further developments are still unknown.
