Voting has begun in Kyrgyzstan for the extraordinary elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh (parliament).

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, 2,492 polling stations have opened across the country, with an additional 27 remote voting points and 100 polling stations abroad.

The elections are being held under an updated system: the country is divided into 30 districts, and each will be represented by three deputies.

According to the Central Election Commission, 4,294,243 citizens have been included in the final voter lists. Polling stations will be open until 20:00 (18:00 Baku time).

Recall that on September 25, the deputies of the Kyrgyz parliament voted for self-dissolution. The initiative came from a group of 32 parliamentarians who noted the short time interval between presidential and parliamentary elections. According to them, this decision is aimed at strengthening the political system and stability in the country.

On September 30, President Sadyr Japarov signed a decree scheduling early parliamentary elections for November 30, 2025.
