Preventive measure of the SSS: what role did Ali Kerimli's PFPA play in Mehtiev's treacherous plan?

The criminal case of former Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev became a powerful blow to the forces opposing by all means the strengthening of Azerbaijan's positions in the region. However, as a continuation of this process, a number of additional measures were inevitable. The searches conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) in the homes of the chairman of the "Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party" (PFAP) Ali Kerimli and a member of the party's presidium Mamed Ibrahim should be considered in this context.

According to information obtained by Oxu.Az, today's operational-investigative activities of the SSS are not only a continuation of the R. Mehdiyev case, but are also characterized as preventive measures.

Undoubtedly, the interests of neighboring Russia in the Caucasus region have always remained relevant. However, there is also the fact that today the attention of the Russian Federation is focused primarily on the Ukrainian front. Geopolitical processes show that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict may already be entering its final phase. In any case, the resolution of this problem in the near future is closer for Russia than ever before.

A pause on the Ukrainian front or any truce will inevitably lead to our northern neighbor's interests being directed primarily to the South Caucasus. In such a case, Azerbaijan, as the leading country in the region that has created new realities, could become the first target.

The logical result of the developments is precisely related to the Mehdiyev case. Destabilization of the country from within, an attempted coup... The Azerbaijani public is already familiar with all this in light of the facts revealed during the criminal case against the former high-ranking official. The circumstances known to the public leave no doubt that Ali Kerimli's PFAP was used in the interests of these forces.

If Ramiz Mehdiyev's plans had not been revealed, and the "gray cardinal" had achieved his goal, then, undoubtedly, the driving force of this betrayal would have been the PFAP, which has always been distinguished by radical behavior and has opposed the state interests of Azerbaijan.

In this context, it is important to emphasize and communicate to the public that the preventive measures taken today by the SSS are timely steps to suppress these treasonous plans in their infancy. Because, as important as it was to prevent Ramiz Mehdiyev's coup plans and his attempts to sell his state's interests to Russia, it is equally important for our state security to consider the timely neutralization of the PFAP in this process.

As for Ali Kerimli, it should be noted that the search operation may reveal many facts. Although the final decision will only be made after investigating the facts, the prospects and past of the PFAP and the people at the head of this party do not bode well.
