Another strong earthquake occurred in Kamchatka
A seismic event with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in the Kamchatka region of Russia around 18:35 Baku time (02:35 on August 1 local time).
As reported by Oxu.Az, this was announced by the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UGS RAS).
The aftershock was recorded at a depth of almost 24 km in the Pacific Ocean, with the epicenter located 239 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The aftershock was one of the most powerful following the main earthquake.
According to UGS RAS data, aftershocks with magnitudes from 4 to 5.9 have been recorded approximately every 10-20 minutes over the past few hours, with their frequency gradually decreasing. During the first day after the main event, according to observations, aftershocks were recorded every 5-10 minutes.
