WhatsApp introduces a new function

WhatsApp is developing a revolutionary update that will significantly expand users' ability to control the fate of their personal data. In a recently released beta version of the messenger (2.25.8.6 for Android), specialists discovered an innovative feature that will allow users to prohibit the automatic saving of sent photos, videos, and other media materials on recipients' devices. Notably, this innovation also blocks the ability to export chat histories.
In the current version of the application, when a user shares media files via WhatsApp, they can automatically end up in the recipient's phone gallery when the corresponding setting is activated. The upcoming update will give senders the authority to deactivate this function for their messages. This means that when sending a personal photo, a user can be completely confident that the image will not remain in the memory of someone else's device without their explicit consent. Activation of this option will be implemented through enabling the "enhanced privacy" mode in the dialog settings.
Currently, the feature is in the testing stage in the beta version of the application, but it is expected that in the near future it will become available to the entire WhatsApp user audience.
