Two New Seasons Have Appeared on Earth
World 63

Scientists have discovered that two new seasons have appeared on Earth, reports Daily Mail.

A team of international researchers warns: two new seasons caused by human activity - the haze season and the trash season - have already firmly entered the global climate calendar. These phenomena disrupt ecosystems, threaten the health of millions of people, and have already become annual occurrences.

The haze season annually covers Southeast Asia from June to September. The main cause is the massive burning of tropical peatlands for agricultural needs in Indonesia and Malaysia. The smoke spreads to neighboring countries, including Singapore and Thailand, causing deterioration of air quality and an increase in diseases. Similar events are recorded in winter in northern India, where the burning of crop residues coincides with the Diwali festival. In the US, the forest fire season, previously limited to summer, now begins in spring and lasts until December.

The trash season is observed in Bali from December to March, when monsoon winds and ocean currents carry tons of plastic waste onto the beaches. In 2025, more than 3000 tons of garbage was collected in just one season. Similar cases have been recorded in the Philippines, Thailand, and along the east coast of the USA - especially in summer, when increased rainfall and river runoff carry plastic into the ocean.
