Erdogan and Trump discussed a ceasefire between the US and Iran
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed the temporary ceasefire agreement reached with Iran during a phone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump.
BAKU.WS reports this with reference to the Haber Global TV channel.
"The leaders discussed current developments in our region, primarily the ceasefire agreement announced last evening with Iran. Expressing satisfaction with the conclusion of the agreement, our president noted that after 40 days, which were very difficult and challenging for the entire world, the emerging two-week window of opportunity must be used as effectively as possible to conclude a lasting peace agreement and not allow this process to be derailed," the statement said.
Erdogan assured that "Turkey will continue to provide more active support to conflict resolution efforts undertaken jointly with friendly and brotherly countries, primarily with Pakistan."
