Alparslan Bayraktar: Today we are witnessing a historic event in Kilis

Today we are witnessing a historic event in Kilis.
As Report informs, this was stated by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar, at the ceremony launching the Kilis-Aleppo border pipeline, which will ensure the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Syria through Turkey.
He called the Turkey-Syria gas pipeline a crucial symbol of Turkish-Syrian friendship in the energy sector.
"I thank Syria, Azerbaijan, and Qatar, with whom we worked together on this international project. I wish that this gas pipeline brings well-being and prosperity to our countries and peoples, as well as peace in our region," the minister said.
Bayraktar also announced the signing of a gas exchange agreement with SOCAR, providing for the supply of Azerbaijani gas at the Turkish-Syrian border. He added that Azerbaijani natural gas will be exported to Syria through Kilis, and that 6 million cubic meters of natural gas will be transported daily through the "Yavuzlu Olchme" station.
The head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy stated that as a result of gas supplies to Syria, power plants will soon begin operating in this country.
"Thanks to this natural gas, an installed capacity of approximately 1200 megawatts will be activated. This project will make a serious contribution to normalizing life in Syria, improve people's living standards, and accelerate the return process to the country," he said.
