The head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Urals, Shahin Shikhlinskiy, was detained and brought to Yekaterinburg from Moscow.

It is claimed that Shikhlinskiy is participating in investigative actions related to one of the criminal cases that were initiated earlier. His current status is unknown, the media notes.

Shahin Shikhlinskiy was put on the wanted list at the end of July. According to the official database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was wanted under an article of the Criminal Code. The specific article under which Shikhlinskiy was wanted was not specified.

Earlier in Yekaterinburg, Shahin Shikhlinskiy's son, Mutvali, was placed under arrest. He will remain in custody for two months. He was detained on July 15 on charges of using violence against a government official.

The reason was a situation that occurred on July 1 near "Baku Plaza." At that time, law enforcement officers conducted a special operation to detain the head of the diaspora, Shahin Shikhlinskiy, who was traveling in a car with his son. When they started breaking the windows of the "Geländewagen," the car, driven by Mutvali, reversed and hit a special forces officer.
