The aging process of the human body begins as early as 30 years old.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Daily Mail, Chinese scientists conducted a study in which they analyzed 516 tissue samples from 76 donors aged 14 to 68 years. They found that molecular changes associated with aging begin in the third decade of life, although external manifestations become noticeable later.

The first organ where signs of aging appear turned out to be the adrenal glands - paired glands located above the kidneys and responsible for hormone production. By the age of 30, the level of certain proteins begins to change in them. Scientists recorded the most pronounced jump in aging after 50 years - then the number of proteins associated with age-related diseases increases sharply in different body systems.

Researchers paid special attention to the GAS6 protein, which regulates cell growth and survival. With age, its level increases, especially in blood vessels, making them more vulnerable. The aorta - the main artery that pumps blood from the heart - suffers the most from aging. These changes increase the risk of fibrosis, heart disease, and liver tumors.

Scientists also named factors that affect the rate of aging. Physical activity, a balanced diet with fish and poultry, adequate sleep, and mental stimulation slow down the process. Smoking, alcohol, lack of sleep, consumption of processed meat, and living in unfavorable conditions accelerate it.
