The Main Directorate of Traffic Police urged drivers not to get behind the wheel of cars when feeling unwell or having serious health problems.

As Report informs, the cause for serious concern from the authorities was a tragic incident in Khachmaz district, where a GAZ-3302 truck driver died at the wheel from acute heart failure, which led to a traffic accident.

The traffic police note that the number of accidents caused by sudden deterioration of drivers' health has significantly increased amid the established hot weather.

"We strongly recommend that drivers refrain from operating vehicles at the slightest signs of illness and serious health problems. A special appeal to relatives: be vigilant and do not allow family members with health problems to drive," the official statement from the department emphasizes.

The tragic incident that prompted the appeal occurred on July 31 in Khachmaz district. 58-year-old Rovket Yunusov, a resident of Guba district, lost consciousness while driving a GAZ-3302 truck due to an acute heart attack. The uncontrolled vehicle collided with the median strip. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene pronounced the driver dead.
