Nutritionist named the most beneficial type of food salt

Iodized sea salt is a beneficial and versatile product for daily diet, claims Russian dietitian Kristina Voit in a conversation with NEWS.ru. According to her, this salt not only improves the taste of dishes but also contributes to strengthening health, especially considering the high level of iodine deficiency among citizens.
There is a myth that for healthy eating one should completely give up salt. However, as the expert notes, it's more important to control its quantity and quality. The optimal option is iodized sea salt, since many people experience iodine deficiency. It's especially important to include such salt in the diet if a person rarely consumes seafood and fish.
Voit emphasizes that iodine is necessary for normal child development - its deficiency can negatively affect cognitive abilities and concentration. However, in case of thyroid diseases, iodized salt is sometimes recommended to be excluded, but only after consulting with a doctor.
The expert also advises to carefully choose iodized salt, as not all of it is equally beneficial. Preference should be given to salt enriched with potassium iodate, not iodide, as the former is considered more stable and effective.
