Oscar nominee Penelope Milford has died
American actress Penelope Milford, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film "Coming Home," has died at the age of 77. Her death was confirmed by her brother Doug Milford, the cause is not specified, writes Variety.
Milford's career began on the New York stage in 1971, and in 1979 she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Among her iconic works are also roles in Franco Zeffirelli's "Endless Love" and Ken Russell's "The Valkyries."
In the 1980s, the actress was active in television, and later taught acting and participated in theatrical productions. In her final years, she devoted herself to the restoration of historic buildings and community work in New York State.
