Peskov: Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a ceasefire until September 8

Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a short-term ceasefire over the capitals of the two countries in connection with the visit to the region of an American delegation comprising U.S. President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

This was stated to "Interfax" by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov.

He confirmed that this ceasefire regime will be in effect from September 5 to September 8.

"Indeed, such information was received (about the ceasefire by Kyiv - ed.). President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gave an order not to strike Kyiv for three days, starting from midnight tonight," Peskov noted.

It should be noted that it was earlier reported that Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday to hold consultations with the Russian leadership on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Tomorrow, the American delegation plans to hold similar negotiations with the leadership of Ukraine in Kyiv.
