"Nar" supports development of sign language application in Azerbaijan

Continuing to create significant social value through its social initiatives, "Nar" supports the development of sign language and contributes to the launch of a mobile application for learning sign language in Azerbaijan. The implementation of this project, supported by "Nar", began in September last year with the assistance of bp and its partners, as well as with organizational support from ADA University and ADA University Foundation. This initiative aims to support inclusivity by facilitating communication between people with hearing and speech impairments and society at large. The application also provides an opportunity to learn sign language completely free of charge and without the need for a teacher. The methodology and educational content for the application are being developed by the "Support for the Deaf" Public Association.
The mobile application, planned for launch in the near future, will offer users a wide range of tools for learning sign language. The lessons section will allow users to choose topics for study, while the dictionary function will help find sign equivalents of words. An alphabet learning module will also be available. The application will offer additional features such as creating user profiles, saving favorite words, and tracking learning progress. Among the innovative features of the application are video speed adjustment, gesture repetition using the camera, and a progress indicator to evaluate achieved results.
It should be noted that "Nar" became the first in the country to launch a unified website jestdili.az, thus contributing to the development of an inclusive society. Continuing support in this direction, "Nar" company now facilitates the creation of a mobile application for sign language. As part of its long-term social initiatives, the mobile operator implements various projects aimed at expanding knowledge and skills of people with hearing and speech impairments. To this end, Nar developed the jestdili.az platform and actively organizes the "Training School" project both in the capital and regions. Additionally, the company published the book "Bridge to the World of Silence" containing sign language explanations and launched the "Living Book" initiative. By supporting the development of the sign language application, Nar continues to use technological capabilities to create a more inclusive and equal society.
Currently, "Nar" provides quality communication services to 2.2 million subscribers. The mobile operator follows a customer-oriented strategy and provides excellent service at an affordable price.
