Silk Way West Airlines signed an agreement with Airbus to acquire two additional A350F cargo aircraft, thus increasing the total order for this new generation model to four. This important achievement confirms the airline's commitment to fleet modernization and sustainable growth.

The new order is a continuation of the partnership established between Silk Way West Airlines and Airbus in June 2022, when the airline became the first operator in the Central Asian region and CIS countries to order the A350F.

Silk Way West Airlines President Wolfgang Meier expressed satisfaction with the expansion of the partnership with Airbus on the A350F program: "This order, which implies the acquisition of four aircraft, marks an important milestone in our company's development and reflects our confidence in the future of sustainable air cargo transportation. The A350F will strengthen our leading position in the global air cargo market as we continue to modernize our fleet and reduce carbon emissions," said the company head.

In turn, Airbus Executive Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft division Benoît de Saint-Exupéry called the repeat order from Silk Way West Airlines, the largest cargo airline in the Caspian region, a serious sign of trust: "The A350F aircraft will allow the airline to maintain its leading position in the global air cargo market and further strengthen its key role in developing Azerbaijan as a major global cargo hub in the heart of the Silk Road," noted the Airbus representative.

The A350F is equipped with the largest main deck cargo door in the aviation industry, and the length and capacity of the fuselage are optimized for industry-standard pallets and containers. More than 70% of the airframe is made of modern materials, which provides a reduction in takeoff weight by 46 tons compared to the competing model. The A350F is also the only cargo aircraft that will fully comply with ICAO's enhanced CO₂ emission standards, which come into effect in 2027.

The A350F is capable of carrying a payload of up to 111 tons and covering a distance of up to 4,700 nautical miles (8,700 km). Equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft will provide a reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions of up to 40% compared to previous generation aircraft with similar range.

This achievement further strengthens Silk Way West Airlines' mission to create a greener future for global logistics and develop connections that reinforce Azerbaijan's role as a key hub between East and West.
