CJSC Baku Steel Company (hereinafter - BSC) presented the Baku Steel Art 2026 exhibition in Baku, dedicated to the "Big Five" of the Caucasus. An open-air exposition was set up near the Museum of Stone Chronicle on the territory of the Seaside National Park, in which images of the wild nature of the Caucasus are embodied in steel. The exhibition is open for visitors until the end of November.
The exhibition features works by participants of the third International Metal Symposium Baku Steel Art 2026, which BSC held with organizational support from QGallery.
The symposium brought together 14 artists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Estonia. For two weeks, the BSC production site became their shared creative workshop. Using the company's steel products, the artists created compositions in which each author interpreted the theme of the Caucasus' nature in their own way.
The "Big Five" unites five representatives of the Caucasus fauna: the gazelle, the Caucasian leopard, the brown bear, the grey wolf, and the imperial eagle. By turning to their images, the artists explore the relationship between humans and nature. The strength of steel contrasts with the fragility of the living world, reminding us of the responsibility to preserve biodiversity.
The exhibition opened as part of the Fly to Baku. Art Weekend. Sense the Future NOW festival, which took place in Baku from October 30 to November 1, 2026. The opening of the exhibition was graced by the presence of honorary guests - the initiator of the Art Weekend project, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva, head of the Baku Media Center Arzu Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva, as well as participants and guests of the Fly to Baku festival. Baku Steel Art symposiums have been held since 2024. By combining BSC's metallurgical expertise with the artistic vision of the authors, the project opens new opportunities for collaboration between industry and art: steel produced at the plant becomes part of the city's cultural space.
