21 new vocational educational institutions will be built in Azerbaijan - DECREE

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on additional measures to strengthen the potential of the vocational education system.

As reported by AZERTAG, the document states:

"High-quality vocational education, which forms competencies in accordance with labor market requirements, makes a significant contribution to increasing the level of employment and labor productivity. The importance of implementing measures aimed at this area is reflected in a number of documents adopted in recent years, including the "Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026", approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 22, 2022, number 3378.

The dynamic development of the country and the changing needs of the labor market not only increase the demand for competitive qualified human resources in the labor market but also dictate the need to create new vocational educational institutions with infrastructure and educational facilities that meet modern standards, allowing to satisfy this demand.

The creation of new vocational educational institutions with infrastructure and educational facilities that meet modern standards will ensure the training of qualified personnel in various specialties, increasing the proportion of people with vocational education in the labor market.

Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to strengthen the potential of the vocational education system, I decree:

1. To ensure the construction of 21 vocational educational institutions meeting modern standards and the major renovation of 2 vocational educational institutions in 2026-2030.

2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

2.1. within four months, to approve an action plan to strengthen the potential of the vocational education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan and inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

2.2. To resolve other issues arising from this order.

3. The Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall approve the list of vocational educational institutions whose construction and major renovation are provided for in part 1 of this order, and within one month prepare and submit to the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan the annual distribution of financial resources required for this purpose.

4. The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall provide the necessary financial resources for the implementation of the activities specified in part 1 of this order in the fund's budget compiled for each year".
