Who is the newly appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection? - PROFILE

By decree of President Ilham Aliyev, Anar Rahim oglu Aliyev has been appointed as the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Anar Aliyev was born in 1980 in Baku. In 2000, he graduated from the Faculty of International Law at Baku State University with a bachelor's degree. In 2002, he received his master's degree, and in 2006, he obtained his PhD in Law.
Aliyev's professional career began in 2000 as a court secretary at Local Economic Court No. 1, where he worked until 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he held the position of chief consultant in the legal department of the Ministry of Economy, and then, until 2018, he headed this department.
For his contributions to the development of Azerbaijan's economy, he was awarded the medal "For Distinguished Civil Service" in 2012. By presidential decree dated February 3, 2016, he served as a member of the Appeals Council under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan until 2018.
Prior to his current appointment, Anar Aliyev served as Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, and before that, he headed the ministry's apparatus.
The new minister is married and has two children.
