President Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador of Malaysia to Azerbaijan
On October 5, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to our country, Aznifah Isnariah bint Abdul Ghani.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the ambassador presented her credentials to the head of our state.
President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.
Noting that friendly and fraternal relations exist between our countries, the head of state emphasized the importance of bringing economic cooperation to the level of political ties, expanding partnership in the energy, investment, tourism and other spheres, and continuing active political dialogue. In this context, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the role of mutual visits by delegations at various levels.
The President of Azerbaijan wished the ambassador success in her diplomatic activities.
The ambassador conveyed to the head of state greetings from the King of Malaysia His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as well as an invitation to visit Malaysia.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the King and Prime Minister of Malaysia in return. Expressing appreciation for the invitation, the head of state emphasized that he accepts it with pleasure. In turn, President Ilham Aliyev invited the King and Prime Minister of Malaysia to pay a visit to Azerbaijan.
The ambassador noted that for many years relations between our countries have been at a very good level. She said that she would make efforts to further strengthen cooperation.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on the prospects of ties, and the importance of mutual support between our countries within the framework of international organizations was emphasized.
Issues of cooperation in the tourism sphere were discussed, including the mutual abolition of visa requirements to stimulate tourism and the establishment of direct air service between the AR and Malaysia.
The meeting also touched upon ties in the field of education. It was noted that Azerbaijani students study in Malaysia, while Malaysian students receive education in our country under scholarship programs provided by the Azerbaijani state.
