Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the XXVIII Eurasian Economic Summit

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent an address to the participants of the XXVIII Eurasian Economic Summit.

As reported by AZERTAG, the address states:

"Dear Summit participants,

I sincerely welcome you on the occasion of the opening of the XXVIII Eurasian Economic Summit organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.

This year, the Summit coincides with a significant event - the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation. I cordially congratulate all members of the Foundation on this occasion. Founded in 1985 as an initiative for peace and dialogue, the Foundation brings together influential politicians, political scientists, economists, representatives of academic circles and businessmen, and today has become one of the most important platforms that makes a great contribution to expanding global and regional cooperation, preserving peace, stability, and promoting intercultural dialogue.

I would like to especially emphasize the contribution of the Marmara Group Foundation and its leader, respected Akkan Suver, to the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, always highly appreciated the activities of the Marmara Group Foundation and supported its initiatives. It should be noted that it was on the initiative of the great leader Heydar Aliyev that the Eurasian Economic Summits began to be held since 1998, and in the same year Heydar Aliyev was elected honorary chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation.

It is a great honor for us that the "Turkic World Award" in memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev is among the 16 awards established on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Marmara Group Foundation. It is especially gratifying that the award dedicated to the national leader was presented to the world-renowned scientist, Nobel Prize laureate, and honorary member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Aziz Sancar.
