Suspect in Louvre robbery offered 15,000 euros for theft
One of the suspects in the Louvre robbery case was offered €15,000 for participating in the crime.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Le Parisien, according to the suspect, a few days before the incident, two men "with Slavic accents" contacted him. They allegedly offered him €15,000 to break into the building. However, he claims that during the theft, he did not understand that he was entering France's most famous museum, but thought he was entering "some premises where there are no visitors on Sundays".
Law enforcement agencies conducting the investigation do not rule out that the masterminds behind the robbery could be foreigners. Alternative theories are also being considered: it is suggested that art collectors or organized crime representatives acting out of self-interest could be behind the crime.
All four detainees were previously acquainted with each other. Two of them have already confessed their guilt, while one continues to deny involvement. He is being interrogated by the criminal police of Paris.
Recall that the day before, French law enforcement officers detained a fourth suspect in the Louvre robbery case.
