Rules for passage through the Strait of Hormuz revealed after its reopening
Iranian authorities have clarified the rules for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz following its reopening.
This was reported by the state broadcasting company IRIB on its Telegram channel, citing a senior military official.
According to the information, only civilian vessels are permitted to cross the strait, while the ban on military ships of any country remains in effect.
Additionally, civilian fleet may transit exclusively along pre-established routes approved by the relevant Iranian authorities.
It is specified that to cross the strait, vessels must obtain a separate permit from the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Earlier, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araghchi, announced that Iran had fully opened the Strait of Hormuz for the duration of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
