"Pride of the Land of Fires": Rafael Agayev
In the spring of 1985, in Sumgayit, an industrial city on the shore of the Caspian Sea, the third child - Rafael - was born to the family of Mahir Agayev, a player for the local football club, and Umnisa Agayeva, a homemaker.
This was reported in the latest episode of the Caliber.Az YouTube channel.
"No one could have imagined back then that the boy who was considered difficult and restless at school would become the most decorated karateka of modern times and a person who would rightfully be called the 'diamond of karate' in the world of sports.
The story of Rafael Agayev is a story of willpower, falls, and rises," the report states.
