Over the past 24 hours, more than 20 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz
More than two dozen commercial vessels crossed the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this claim is contained in an article published in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), which cites unnamed American administration officials.
According to the publication, the mentioned vessels included tankers, bulk carriers, as well as container ships. Some of them turned off their transponders while passing through the strait.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran. Major cities, including Tehran, were struck. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite units of Iran's armed forces) announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking Israel. Iranian authorities also decided to close the Strait of Hormuz to vessels associated with the United States, Israel, and countries that supported the aggression against the Islamic republic.
On April 11, Iran and the United States held several rounds of negotiations in Islamabad. The United States imposed a naval blockade on Iran starting April 13.
