Media revealed the true reason for the US desire to get closer to Russia

The United States seeks to improve relations with Russia in order to weaken China's influence, which is viewed by Washington as the main threat.
This is reported by the American newspaper The Washington Post (WP).
According to analysts, a major strategic design can be traced in the current White House policy.
"Some believe that the president is implementing the so-called 'reverse Kissinger' strategy. This refers to how in the 1970s, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger convinced President Richard Nixon to establish diplomatic relations with China in order to weaken the influence of the Soviet Union," the publication notes.
Today, according to WP, the situation has changed: now China is the more powerful nation and represents the main threat to the United States, so a logical step for Washington would be to move closer to Moscow.
