On July 11, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili.

As reported by BAKU.WS, congratulating Mariam Kvrivishvili on her appointment as minister, President Ilham Aliyev regarded her visit to our country shortly after taking office as an indicator of close cooperation between the two states.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality and congratulations, Mariam Kvrivishvili said that it was an honor for her to meet with the head of our state.

The guest conveyed greetings from the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Irakli Kobakhidze as well.

Recalling with satisfaction that Irakli Kobakhidze made his first foreign visit after the parliamentary elections in Georgia to our country in January this year, the President of Azerbaijan said that this was an example of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Emphasizing that President Ilham Aliyev is a world-class leader, Mariam Kvrivishvili noted that in Georgia, the head of our state is considered a friend.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that bilateral relations covering various areas have a broad agenda, and it was noted that the cooperation established between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the energy and transport sectors and the joint projects being implemented are of strategic importance not only for our countries but also for the wider region. The meeting touched upon the importance of closer cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats in transport, energy, trade, investment, and other areas. Hope was expressed for the expansion of bilateral relations in various directions.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan is Georgia's main trading partner, and it was noted that there is great potential for growth in trade turnover. Views were exchanged on the implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
