Media: Erdogan and Trump to discuss F-35 fighter jet deliveries

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former US President Donald Trump will meet during the NATO summit in The Hague. Important talks between the leaders are scheduled for late evening on June 24.
According to Bloomberg, citing informed sources, a number of pressing issues in bilateral relations will be on the agenda.
The Turkish leader intends to raise the issue of the ban on supplying American F-35 fighters to Ankara. Recall that in 2017, Turkey signed a contract with Russia for the purchase of S-400 air defense missile systems, which were delivered to the country two years later. Washington insisted that Turkey reject the Russian systems in favor of American Patriots, but Ankara did not make concessions. In response, the US excluded Turkey from the program for supplying modern F-35 fighters.
According to agency sources, Erdogan may also ask Trump to restrain Israel's actions in the Middle East. In addition, the leaders will discuss the integration of US-supported Kurdish formations into the Syrian army.
