Apple officially got a new leader at the helm

51-year-old John Ternus officially assumed the position of CEO of Apple on Tuesday, September 1, and joined the company's board of directors.

As reported by mk.ru, he replaced Tim Cook in this role.

At the same time, Tim Cook will continue working at the company, engaging with government agencies of various countries and with politicians in his new role as executive chairman of the board of directors.

John Ternus graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and before joining Apple, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Virtual Research Systems, where he was involved in the development of VR headsets.

After joining Apple in 2001, Ternus initially oversaw monitor design, then led the hardware development division for the iPad, AirPods, and iPhone product lines, and in 2021, he joined the company's executive team.
