Frozen blueberries caused hepatitis infection

About 24 people in the Netherlands infected with hepatitis A virus.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to NOS TV channel, the cause might have been blueberry consumption.

According to the TV channel, 13 men and 11 women aged 16 to 77 were infected with hepatitis. All of them fell ill between November 2024 and February 2025, with 8 people hospitalized. It is believed that all victims consumed frozen "Albert Heijn" blueberries contaminated with hepatitis.
No further spread of the disease is expected, as the incubation period averages 28 to 50 days.
In January, "Albert Heijn" company decided to remove frozen blueberries from sale in the country's supermarkets due to possible contamination with hepatitis A virus.
