Trump stated about good progress on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump announced good progress in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to foreign media, he stated this to journalists at the White House.

"I think we are making good progress. If we stop this [conflict], it will be a huge achievement. We are trying very hard, and I think we are close," said the American leader.

He noted that his special envoy Steven Witkoff "is continuously negotiating" on the settlement in Ukraine: "He has excellent relations with both countries, and I believe we have good chances."

At the same time, Trump claimed that "Russia might want to take the entire [territory of Ukraine]." "If we hadn't intervened, they would have succeeded," the White House occupant asserted, noting that Washington "in some way recouped" the funds spent on supporting Kyiv through a natural resources deal with Ukraine.

Trump added that he would ask the Chinese leadership for help in resolving the crisis.
