Former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was deprived of property and fined 100 million rubles

The Moscow City Court, which sentenced former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov to 13 years in a general regime penal colony, imposed a fine of 100 million rubles on him. This was reported by TASS.
According to the court's decision, all previously arrested assets of Ivanov and his family members were confiscated by the state; in addition, the former deputy minister was stripped of his state awards. The decision was made as part of the consideration of Ivanov's first criminal case. It concerned embezzlement in the purchase of two ferries for the Kerch crossing and the withdrawal of more than 3.9 billion rubles from the Intercommerce bank.
The defense of the convicted person promised to appeal the sentence.
