A New "Viral" Chocolate Released in UAE
The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has introduced its own exclusive chocolate, following in the footsteps of the Dubai dessert that became a real hit last summer. Dubai chocolate gained viral popularity in the summer of 2024 thanks to numerous social media reviews. Inside the bar was pistachio paste and kataifi dough. After the success of this delicacy, Dubai began producing new products with similar fillings.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RIA Novosti, Filipino chef Nuel Katis developed a unique Abu Dhabi Chocolate in Abu Dhabi with a filling of dates and tahini - sesame paste - with notes of saffron and cardamom. The bar is decorated on top with edible gold foil.
Tahini occupies an important place in the traditional cuisine of the UAE and is considered an element of the country's cultural heritage.
On May 31, it became known that in one month, sales of Dubai chocolate at Dubai Duty Free reached 8 million dollars. The largest volume of purchases came from citizens of India, who bought products worth 19.76 million dollars. Tourists from Saudi Arabia (14.03 million dollars) and China (10.75 million dollars) were in third and fourth place in terms of purchase volume.
