The consequences of excessive black tea consumption have been revealed

May 21 marks International Tea Day - a beneficial beverage that requires moderation.
Therapist Yana Shmeleva, in a conversation with the publication "Moscow Region Today," reminded that even tea can cause harm when consumed excessively.
Black tea contains B vitamins, amino acids, carotene, magnesium, zinc, and iron, however, some vitamin C is lost during processing. According to Shmeleva, the beverage can improve brain function, relieve spasms, and stimulate kidney function.
But excess tea can negatively affect health: fluoride in large doses harms bones and teeth, caffeine causes excitement and interferes with sleep, especially with neuroses. With anemia, tea makes iron absorption difficult, and cold tea can contribute to kidney stone formation. Hot tea is contraindicated during high fever, as it intensifies heat.
The doctor also warns against consuming day-old tea due to possible bacterial growth. It's not advisable to take medications with tea, especially multivitamins - this creates an extra burden on the kidneys. It's optimal to drink mild tea, adding milk or honey to soften the effects of caffeine.
