Scientists describe an effective weight loss method

American researchers have discovered that combining intermittent fasting with regular physical exercise significantly increases weight loss effectiveness compared to exercise alone. A particularly important finding was the ability of this approach to preserve muscle mass - a key factor for maintaining healthy metabolism and overall body wellness. The results of this significant study were presented to the scientific community in the prestigious International Journal of Obesity.
During a large-scale analysis, scientists examined 15 scientific publications from recent years, focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of the eight-hour intermittent eating method popular in the United States combined with physical exercise. Researchers were interested in the impact of this approach on weight dynamics and changes in body composition of participants.
The results obtained left no room for doubt: combining intermittent fasting with workouts demonstrated significantly more pronounced reduction in fat mass compared to groups that practiced only physical exercises. Notably, participants who followed the combined approach successfully maintained muscle tissue - unlike those who simply restricted caloric intake without additional physical activity.
However, researchers note an important nuance: these findings predominantly apply to people who are in good physical shape. Specialists emphasize that for individuals with obesity, the results may differ significantly. Additionally, the authors of the work emphasize that the qualitative composition of consumed food remains an equally important factor, not just the timeframes of meals.
