It became known under what conditions the US may end the operation in Iran
Americans may end the military operation against Iran when they realize its unpopularity among the public, face a significant rise in oil prices, a decline in U.S. stock markets, and the threat of a global economic crisis.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Al Jazeera, this was stated by Scott Lucas, Professor of American and International Politics at University College Dublin.
According to him, Trump has already been "shaken" by the sharp rise in oil prices, market losses, and public pressure, with people speaking out against the military operation. And if conditions worsen, this will force the Americans to end the conflict.
"When Donald Trump and his inner circle realize that they have lost the support of a significant portion of the American people, 56% of whom already oppose this war; when global oil prices rise above $100 again and approach $150 per barrel; when U.S. stock markets begin to fall and there emerges not only a threat to the U.S. economy but also the likelihood of a global economic crisis — that is when they will stop," Lucas believes.
The professor emphasized that "someone" must help the Americans "stop and try to save face." Lucas stressed that currently the Persian Gulf states have leverage over Trump due to "Trump's personal and family investments," as well as the presence of American assets in the region.
