On March 9, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the telephone conversation, an exchange of views took place on the current security situation and the growing tension in the region, the risks caused by recent events against the backdrop of military escalation and their impact on regional stability were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov condemned today's missile attack on the territory of Turkey and expressed support for the brotherly Turkish people.

It was stated that further expansion of military escalation could lead to undesirable consequences, and an exchange of views took place on possible steps to reduce tension and create an atmosphere of dialogue. The unacceptability of attacks on neighboring countries during the confrontation and any steps directed against the territorial integrity of sovereign states was particularly emphasized.

It was noted that the Azerbaijan-Turkey strategic alliance and brotherly relations are of great importance in the current complex geopolitical conditions, and in this context, the importance of continuing mutual consultations and coordination between the two countries on regional issues was highlighted.

During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
