The President approved the deduction of an unpaid fine primarily from the convict's salary

In Azerbaijan, if a fine is not paid within the established deadline, the amount will first be deducted from the convicted person's salary.

As reported by BAKU.WS, President Ilham Aliyev approved the corresponding amendment to the Code on the Execution of Punishments.

According to the changes, if the fine is not paid within the established deadline, its enforcement will be carried out compulsorily by decision of the court that issued the sentence, with the collection being directed first at the salary or other income of the convicted person.

If such income is absent or insufficient to fully cover the fine, the collection will be directed at the property of the convicted person or their share in jointly owned property, in accordance with the procedure provided by the Law "On Enforcement Proceedings."
