SOCAR begins seabed surveys at the "Goshadash" block in the Caspian Sea
As part of the preparations for conducting 3D OBN (Ocean Bottom Node) seismic field operations at the "Goshadash" block located in the Caspian Sea, a seabed survey is being initiated at the preliminary stage.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
"Conducting these surveys in advance will subsequently ensure optimal placement of bottom nodes during seismic field operations and increase the efficiency of planned operations. The obtained results will also contribute to the successful implementation of the seismic program.
As part of the survey, modern multibeam and sonar technologies are used for accurate mapping of seabed conditions and identification of possible obstacles, which will ensure safer and more optimal placement of bottom nodes," the company reports.
It is noted that the work is being carried out by SOCAR's Geophysics and Geology Department in collaboration with SOCAR Fugro.
According to the information, the preliminary execution of this work will allow for more efficient conduct of planned field surveys in the future and the acquisition of high-quality seismic data.
