Named 3 main dietary mistakes - could even lead to cancer

To reduce the risk of malignant polyps, doctors recommend following simple rules: drink enough water, limit red meat consumption, and daily eat foods rich in fiber. However, as noted by proctologist, oncologist, and surgeon Elena Smirnova in her Telegram channel, many people neglect these measures.
Intestinal polyps form due to mutations in the cells of the mucous membrane. Normally, the mucosa regularly renews itself, but during inflammation this process is disrupted - and pathological formations appear. They are detected using colonoscopy. According to Smirnova, an experienced endoscopist can tell a lot just by the appearance of a polyp, but the final diagnosis is made only after histological analysis.
If dysplasia (precancerous tissue change) is found in a polyp, it must be removed. "Polyps with high dysplasia can develop into cancer in a matter of months," warns endoscopist Alina Sankovskaya. Bleeding and large pedunculated formations also require immediate removal, while small hyperplastic ones are observed over time.
The frequency of repeat colonoscopy depends on the diagnosis: once a year for dysplasia, once every three years for adenomas without dysplasia. The doctor creates an individualized schedule.
"The first examination is recommended at age 40, and earlier for those with family predisposition," added Elena Smirnova.
