Changes are proposed to the Labor Code, which may mark the beginning of a new stage in the labor market. The hourly wage system is receiving legal formalization.

This means new opportunities and questions for both employers and employees. Currently, wages are mainly calculated on a monthly basis. However, this creates certain difficulties for short-term and irregular jobs. The proposed hourly wage system aims to address this gap.

BAKU.WS with reference to "Xəzər Xəbər" reports that according to deputy Vugar Bayramov, the new mechanism provides for an employee to receive wages in accordance with the hours actually worked. This system will create more transparent and flexible opportunities, especially for temporary jobs, freelancing, and part-time work. At the same time, this system will provide additional benefits for employees.

According to the deputy, if a person works beyond the established daily hours, as well as on holidays and weekends, the salary will be calculated differently.

It should be noted that some restaurants in the country already use an hourly wage system. In these cases, the hourly pay ranges from 2 to 3 manats.
