Earth Has Experienced What Scientists Feared Most - Alarming Statement

Earth's rotation speed continues to increase - and this is causing serious concern among scientists. According to specialists from the International Earth Rotation Service (IERS), an absolute record was recorded on March 17: the planet completed its daily rotation 1.72 milliseconds faster than the usual 24 hours.
As Tsargrad reports, measurements are conducted using ultra-precise atomic clocks capable of detecting deviations down to hundredths of a millisecond. According to IERS data, the acceleration of rotation has been observed since 2020, and in 2024, 35 such "short days" have already been recorded. Everything indicates that in 2025 the planet will break its own record.
Scientists cite global warming as the main factor for the acceleration. The melting of glaciers in the Arctic and Antarctica changes the distribution of mass on Earth's surface, which affects its dynamics. However, there are other, still poorly understood causes that may play an equally important role.
What the consequences of this process will be is still unclear. But scientists are certain: the changes will affect the entire ecosystem of the planet and may influence various spheres - from climate to the operation of navigation systems.
