A doctor named a fruit for lowering cholesterol levels and preventing Alzheimer's disease
Foreign medical experts are increasingly drawing attention to simple foods that can have a comprehensive impact on the body. General practitioner Amir Khan recommended including one popular fruit in the daily diet for the prevention of cognitive impairments and maintaining normal cholesterol levels.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Daily Mirror, the specialist noted that he was referring to dates. According to him, consuming two to three fruits per day is considered a safe amount. Despite their pronounced sweetness, in such quantities they do not have a significant impact on blood sugar levels.
The expert explained that dates are rich in fiber, which helps normalize digestion and generally has a positive effect on overall well-being. In addition, this product can have a beneficial impact on the cardiovascular system, helping to control cholesterol levels.
Amir Khan separately emphasized that the antioxidants found in dates can potentially reduce inflammatory processes and support brain health. According to preliminary research data, this may play a role in the prevention of diseases such as Alzheimer's, however scientists are still urging caution regarding these findings and are awaiting additional confirmation.
