101-year-old professor reveals the secret of longevity

American professor John Scharffenberg from the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University in California celebrated his 101st birthday and decided to share the secrets of his impressive longevity. The publication La Razon published the scientist's unique recommendations on nutrition and lifestyle.
Scharffenberg said that a key element of his nutrition system was the complete elimination of meat, although he continues to consume eggs and dairy products. The professor pays special attention to minimizing sugar in his diet, emphasizing that excess of this product inevitably leads to obesity and serious problems with the cardiovascular system. The centenarian has also strictly limited the consumption of saturated fats, known for their ability to increase blood cholesterol levels.
According to Scharffenberg, even more important than proper nutrition for longevity is regular physical activity. He claims that in old age, it is enough to devote just half an hour daily to physical activity. The professor also noted that throughout his life he never smoked, completely eliminated alcohol, and maintained a normal weight, which helped him avoid diabetes, hypertension, and oncological diseases.
