Zahid Oruj: The military leadership of President Ilham Aliyev will always be studied

"In the context of escalating interstate conflicts and ongoing wars, we can confidently state: the war conducted under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is the greatest result achieved in the shortest time and with minimal losses."

This was stated in a comment to BAKU.WS by Member of the Milli Majlis, Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights Zahid Oruj.

According to him, victory can also be achieved in a war that lasts 5, 7, or 10 years, but in such a case all the country's resources are mobilized, territories are subjected to even greater destruction, and human losses are counted in thousands and hundreds of thousands.

"The question of at what cost this victory was achieved will inevitably be raised. That is precisely why our Victorious War receives its deserved recognition on the international stage," the deputy noted.

Zahid Oruj also touched upon the recognition of the war's results at the international level.

"The recognition of its legitimacy on August 8, 2025, at the White House in Washington, in our opinion, proved that at the new stage Ilham Aliyev is not only a military commander but also a commander of the era of Peace," he stated.

According to the parliamentarian, Azerbaijan's victory was recognized and accepted by the United States.

"Our victory was recognized and accepted by the capital and the state that are the most powerful in the world. A blow was also dealt to the forces that united against our victory. It is confirmed that Ilham Aliyev is the bearer of a mission that has no analogues in the history of the last century," Zahid Oruj said.

He also stated that, in his opinion, representatives of Georgian and Armenian societies are interested in preserving peace in the region.

"Georgians, including Armenians, stand on the side of peace. They too look at this global mission being carried out by the Azerbaijani leader with expectation and hope," the deputy added.

Zahid Oruj separately noted that the military leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, in his opinion, will be a subject of study in the future.

"The military leadership of President Ilham Aliyev will always be studied. In history, if states cannot transfer the results achieved on the battlefield into the diplomatic-political space and ultimately secure them by signing a document, this becomes a process that turns against them in the future," he said.

The parliamentarian emphasized that, in his assessment, Azerbaijan was able to consolidate the results of the war and achieve changes on the part of Armenia.

"In the current situation, Azerbaijan was able to ensure that Armenia changed its constitution, essentially its national state philosophy, brought it into compliance with law and justice, and accepted the results of our victory. Under such conditions, living in a peaceful environment will become a necessity both for the Caucasus and for the entire post-Soviet space," Zahid Oruj concluded.
